Installation Instructions
Optics is a standalone application and a plugin that can be applied in Adobe Photoshop and Lightroom Classic. Optics supports macOs and Windows 10. After registering, you will be emailed a download link with instructions to install and activate your product.

Q. I purchased a Wacom product and received a free product from Boris FX. Is this true?
Yes! For a limited time, customers who purchase Wacom tablets receive a free 1-year subscription to Optics. No credit card is required to redeem your software.
Q. How do I get my free Boris FX software?
Customers must first login to create an account and register their Wacom products with Wacom. After registering, you can find Partner Offers in your Wacom account. If you have an active offer from Boris FX, you can click it to find your activation code and registration link.
Q. Ok, I have filled out the Boris FX registration form above, now what?
After entering your key, you will receive an email with installation instructions and a download link.
If your spam filters are on and the email does not come through within 10 minutes please visit the Optics download page to get a link to the installer.
Q. How do I activate the software?
When you launch Optics, you will be prompted to activate it. Activation requires an internet connection. Add or paste your license into the activation window.

No, Optics also installs a standalone application that can be run directly on macOS or Windows 10.
Q. I have an older version of Photoshop (or Lightroom). What version does Optics support?
Optics 2024 supports:
- Adobe Photoshop CC and up (64 Bit Only)
- Adobe Photoshop Elements 2018 and up (Non-app store version)
- Adobe Photoshop Lightroom Classic

Q. What happens when my 1-year subscription expires?
Your Boris FX Optics license will expire 1 year after you activate it. Customers who wish to extend their license can purchase a subscription or a new perpetual license from our webshop. Boris FX offers many options including annual and monthly subscriptions as well as Educational and Enterprise licenses.
Q. Can I use Optics on my video clips?
Optics is for still photos only, but please be aware that Boris FX products Sapphire and Continuum are plugin collections designed for video editing, motion graphics, and effects.
